GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation and is set to replace the existing Data Protection Directive.
This framework was first put forth by the European Commission in 2012 and was finally agreed upon by the European Parliament and Council.
GDPR contains several new protections for data and was enforced in the spring of 2018.
