Leading on environment issues – Carbon Balancing

Carbon balanced print – our partnership with World Land Trust and how to bring carbon reduction into your business

Romax is a certified Carbon Balanced Printer – just one of a handful in the UK. We’ve partnered with World Land Trust to offer our clients the opportunity to offset their print-generated carbon to help global conservation projects.

Paper and packaging printed with us can be offset, and a quarterly certificate issued and paid for by us for our clients to share, or evidence to suppliers. It means we can help businesses to reduce the carbon in their supply chain – something the consumer is looking for more and more, aware of the human production impact on the planet.

So far, 380,000 tonnes of CO2 have been offset through the Carbon Balanced Programme – and we’re one of 5,000 businesses who have taken positive action by choosing Carbon Balanced Print and Paper.

And it’s not just businesses who are interested in carbon balancing – consumers are too:

  • 66% of global consumers say they’re willing to pay more for sustainable brands (Nielsen)
  • 55% of young people in the UK say they would be more loyal to a brand that was reducing its carbon footprint (Carbon Trust)

Why consider carbon balanced printing for your business?

  • It’s measurable – we’ll send you a certificate letting you know how much carbon you are offsetting – and saving
  • The Carbon Balanced Paper scheme is a credible solution to help your company to reduce the environmental impact of paper-based media and communications.
  • Use the logo, show your company is part of the scheme and how much carbon you have saved

Your carbon certificate can be used as an official environmental record for carbon reporting and ISO14001.

We already work with a number of conservation and wildlife trust organisations:

  • British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) (We’re corporate supporters)
  • ZSL London Zoo
  • Whipsnade Zoo
  • Wildwood Kent and Devon
  • Kent Wildlife Trust

Romax Managing Director Robin Sumner, said: “It’s important to us here at Romax to do what we can to protect the planet in the course of our business activities – and help others to do the same.”
